Artist Statement

"Creativity is a powerful force that opens the door to limitless possibilities. It transcends the ordinary, inviting us to explore the extraordinary. Through authentic ideas and vibrant expressions, my art captures the light, movement, and spirit of life.

It reflects the beauty of creative problem-solving in every piece I create."

My artistic journey began with studies in fashion illustration and commercial art at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, complemented by painting and drawing at Carnegie Mellon University. I earned an MFA in Illustration from Syracuse University and explored Japanese Rosome painting at the University of Minnesota. My internship with the Arts in Medicine program at the University of Buffalo further shaped my career. In the vibrant heart of Acapulco, I studied under the renowned watercolorist Chin Kee Chee, whose bold, innovative techniques pushed me beyond traditional methods and forever transformed my approach to the medium.

Professionally, I have illustrated for department stores, boutiques. malls and worked in graphic arts and new product design for manufacturers. Transitioning to freelance work, I balanced career and family while engaging in entrepreneurial projects that blended art with functional products. My freelance experience includes fine art for private and public spaces, gallery exhibitions, functional art design to create new products and designing an arts-in-medicine program at York’s Mind Body Health Center.

I supervised painting teams at Sight and Sound Theaters in Lancaster, PA, and created scenic sets,  through freelance projects at the Word of Life Theater in Hudson, FL. I also founded a fine arts gallery in upstate New York, fostering creativity and education.

Teaching art to adults with Autism and Down Syndrome in Lancaster reaffirmed my commitment to inclusive art education.

My work has been exhibited in galleries and shows across York, Lancaster, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, and New York, enhancing various spaces.

I remain inspired by the creative process, focusing on evolving my work through new techniques and site-specific installations.
