Artist Statement
"Creativity enhances my awareness of the beauty and limitless possibilities life offers. Art is my vibrant medium for authentic expression, allowing me to share my unique perspective. Creative problem-solving drives my artistic process. My art reflects the light, movement and spirit of life."
My artistic journey began with studies in fashion illustration and commercial art at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, complemented by painting and drawing at Carnegie Mellon University. I earned an MFA in Illustration from Syracuse University and explored Japanese Rosome painting at the University of Minnesota. My internship with the Arts in Medicine program at the University of Buffalo further shaped my career.
Professionally, I have illustrated for department stores and worked in graphic arts and new product design. Transitioning to freelance work, I balanced career and family while engaging in entrepreneurial projects that blended art with functional products. My freelance experience includes fine art, gallery exhibitions, and contributions and designing an arts-in-medicine program at York’s Mind Body Health Center.
I developed leadership skills at Sight and Sound Theaters in Lancaster, PA, where I supervised painting teams and created scenic sets, and through freelance projects at the Word of Life Theater in Hudson, FL. I also founded a fine arts gallery in upstate New York, fostering creativity and education.
Teaching art to adults with Autism and Down Syndrome in Lancaster reaffirmed my commitment to inclusive art education.
My work has been exhibited in galleries and shows across York, Lancaster, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, and New York, enhancing various spaces.
I remain inspired by the creative process, focusing on evolving my work through new techniques and site-specific installations.
